Cornhusk dolls were the first dolls to be made in the United States. Native Americans of the Northeast have made cornhusk dolls for more than a thousand years. Some dolls were made for the amusement of children and others for sacred healing ceremonies. Your students will learn the story of why cornhusk dolls have no face and they will make their own cornhusk dolls.
