Grade 2 - 5, 2 Hour Workshop
Workshop Cost $90
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is done in two - one hour workshops at least one week apart to allow for the mask to dry before painting and decorating.
In the first hour of this workshop, your students will create a one-of-a-kind mask: Animals, self-portraits, monsters or super-heroes. Paper towels are torn and dipped in corn-starch to form several layers over an armature. The eyes, nose and mouth will be sculpted by a technique developed by the artist and the masks will be put away to dry. On the second workshop hour, the masks will be painted and found objects, such as Styrofoam for teeth; yarn, wire for hair and whiskers will be glued to complete the mask.
