Grade K - 5, 1 Hour Workshop
Workshop Cost $250
This assembly style workshop will begin with a brief history of the Mardi gras celebration and the different cultures that came together to create this tradition. After that, the fun will begin! The Musicians will play traditional "Cajun" music from Louisiana on the Accordion, Guitar, Clarinet and Rub board and will end with musicians, teachers and students doing a New Orleans style parade "dance line". This workshop can be done for an entire grade level or the entire school if your auditorium permits.
Optional: An instructional packet can be mailed ahead of time so that students can create masks in their classrooms from simple accessible materials to wear during the celebration!
